NOTAMs: Three important updates
WELCOME, DAVID JARVIS, CFII
Please welcome our new Flight Instructor, David Jarvis, from Mineral Point, Missouri. He’s an all-around great guy and CFII. You can read more about him and his qualifications here.
You may begin booking with him starting Monday, July 5th.
RYAN’S ADVENTURES
After spending over a year with us, Ryan is turning the page on a new chapter in his life and flying career. He will be making the short trip up the road to San Marcos, where he will join Berry Aviation in its Part 135 On-Demand Cargo operations. He will be flying the Embraer EMB-120ER (Brasilia). This is quite a leap from a little Cessna 172, but we know he will master it in no time!
RENTAL RATES and FUEL COSTS
As you’ve probably noticed, gas prices at the pump are slowly trending downward. Self-serve 100LL prices have decreased from $7.34 to $6.97, but that still puts us nearly $2 above $5, which is what the old $175 per hour rate was based on. We hope avgas will at least get to the $6 mark so we can reduce rental rates by $10 per hour. We may never see $5 avgas again, but if we do, we’ll return to $175 per hour.

As we celebrate our 14th year in business, we always circle back to what makes it all possible… you, the customer. Thank you for choosing us.
We sincerely appreciate your business!

NOTAM: Further Adjustments to Aircraft Rental Rates

To our valued students and renters,
We are writing to provide a necessary update regarding our aircraft rental rates. As part of our commitment to transparency, we want to keep you informed about the shifting operating costs that impact our fleet.
Recently, we adjusted our rates to reflect a fuel price of $6.24 per gallon. Unfortunately, local 100LL prices have continued to climb sharply, reaching $7.34 per gallon on April 18th. We had hoped it would go back down by May 1st, but it did not. Because our primary goal is to maintain the highest standards of safety and aircraft maintenance, we must adjust our temporary fuel surcharge to keep pace with these market changes.
Rate Adjustment Details
Effective May 1st, the fuel surcharge for all Cessna 172 rentals will be updated as follows:
- Previous Surcharge: $10.00 per Hobbs hour
- New Surcharge: $20.00 per Hobbs hour
- Basis: This adjustment covers the $2.34 increase from our baseline fuel cost of $5.00 per gallon.
- Block Discount: Has been increased to credit $6.85 per Hobbs hour, or 3.5% of the rental rate.
Our Commitment to You
We understand that price increases are never welcome news. Please rest assured that we monitor fuel prices daily; this is a temporary measure, and we look forward to reducing or removing this surcharge as soon as the market stabilizes.
This adjustment allows us to continue providing you with the well-maintained aircraft and top-tier service you expect from Moses Aviation without compromising on quality.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and understanding as we navigate these industry-wide fluctuations. If you have any questions regarding your upcoming bookings, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

NOTAM: Temporary Adjustment to Aircraft Rental Rates
To our valued students and renters,
We are writing to inform you of a temporary adjustment to our aircraft rental rates. To remain transparent about our operating costs, we want to share the data driving this change.
Our current rental rates were originally calculated based on a 100LL fuel cost of $5.00 per gallon. However, local fuel prices have recently climbed to $6.24 per gallon. To account for this difference, we will be implementing a temporary increase of $10 per Hobbs hour. This will be added to all 172 rental rates, effective immediately.
Our goal is always to keep aviation as accessible as possible. This modest adjustment ensures we can continue to provide well-maintained aircraft and top-tier service without compromising on safety or quality.
We are monitoring fuel prices closely and look forward to removing this increase as soon as market rates stabilize.
We appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions regarding existing bookings, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Tailwinds,
Henry and Annie Moses
