{"id":80,"date":"2020-02-27T13:52:32","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T13:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2022-06-22T16:01:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T21:01:35","slug":"commercial-pilot-license","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/index.php\/commercial-pilot-license\/","title":{"rendered":"Commercial Pilot License"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Commercial-Pilot.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Commercial-Pilot.jpg 900w, https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Commercial-Pilot-300x165.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Commercial-Pilot-768x422.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Commercial-Pilot-400x220.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements<br><\/strong>To be eligible for a commercial pilot certificate, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be at least 18 years of age.<\/li><li>Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.<\/li><li>Hold at least a private pilot certificate.<\/li><li>Meet the aeronautical experience requirements that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought.<\/li><li>Pass the knowledge test.<\/li><li>Pass the practical test.<\/li><li>Pass the written test.<\/li><li>To exercise the privileges of a commercial pilot certificate, you must hold at least a current Second Class Medical Certificate.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flight Time Requirements for an Airplane Single Engine Rating<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are applying for a Commercial pilot certificate with an airplane category and single-engine class rating, you must log at least 250 hours of flight time as a pilot that consists of at least:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>100 hours in powered aircraft, of which 50 hours must be in airplanes.<\/li><li>100 hours of pilot in command flight time, which includes at least 50 hours in airplanes and 50 hours in cross-country flight in airplanes.<\/li><li>20 hours of training on the areas of operation as listed for this rating, which includes at least 10 hours of instrument training, of which at least 5 hours must be in a single-engine airplane, 10 hours of training in an airplane that has retractable landing gear, flaps, and a controllable pitch propeller, or is turbine-powered, one cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in a single-engine airplane in day VFR conditions, consisting of a total straight-line distance of more than 100 nautical miles from the original point of departure, one cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in a single-engine airplane in night VFR conditions, consisting of a total straight-line distance of more than 100 nautical miles from the original point of departure.<\/li><li>10 hours of solo flight in a single-engine airplane, including one cross-country flight of not less than 300 nautical miles total distance and as specified, and 5 hours in night VFR conditions with 10 takeoffs and 10 landings (with each landing involving a flight in the traffic pattern) at an airport with an operating control tower.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Obtaining your Commercial license opens the door to fly for pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you already have a Private Pilot&#8217;s License and are interested in earning your Commercial license, please fill out our&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/index.php\/student-renter-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\">student registration form<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RequirementsTo be eligible for a commercial pilot certificate, you must: Be at least 18 years of age.
