There are several different types of pilot\u2019s licenses, from student pilot all the way up to airline transport pilot. The information on our website describes the eligibility, training, experience, and testing requirements for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.wordpress.com\/flight-training\/private-pilot-license\/\">Private Pilot<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.wordpress.com\/flight-training\/instrument-rating\/\">Instrument Rating<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.wordpress.com\/flight-training\/commerical-pilot-license\/\">Commercial Pilot<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How much does it cost?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"570\" height=\"647\" src=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/PPL-Cost.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4960\" style=\"width:546px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/PPL-Cost.jpg 570w, https:\/\/mosesaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/PPL-Cost-264x300.jpg 264w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ask about our 3 convenient payment options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">*This is the <em>minimum<\/em> you will spend and is <em>not<\/em> a guaranteed total price. Students learn at different paces and often require more than 40 hours, but this will give you an idea of what to budget for. The national average is 65-70 hours. Most of our students finish between 50-60 hours, saving you time and money.<br><br><em>**If an overnight stay is required for your Check Ride, the instructor\u2019s room<\/em> <em>and meals are not included<\/em> <em>and must be paid for by the student.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I have to pay it all at once?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>About half of our students \u201cpay as they go\u201d.&nbsp; If you choose this option, you will place the card of your choice on file in your Flight Wallet during orientation. A $250 deposit will be charged at that time and will remain on your account as a rolling credit\/deposit. We will charge the card on file each time you fly and email you a paid receipt. Your deposit will be applied to your final lesson, whether you complete or discontinue your training, or if you move.<br>The other half of our students take advantage of our discount on aircraft rentals by paying a minimum of $2500 toward \u201cBlock Time\u201d. &nbsp;<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Block Time funds must be <strong>cash, check, or bank draft<\/strong> to receive the discount.<\/span> &nbsp;<\/em>The funds are placed in your <em>Flight Wallet<\/em> and are charged after each flight.&nbsp; When your <em>Wallet <\/em>reaches a <em>credit <\/em>balance of around $100, we will text a request for an additional $2500 so you can continue receiving the discount. This is typically every 8-10 lessons. The Block Time discount will save you more than $250 over the 40 hours of required flight time, which equates to a <em>FREE Flight Lesson<\/em>, or <em>five FREE 1.0-hour Ground Lessons.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are free to switch between Pay-as-You-Go and Block Time. Just let us know ahead of time that you want to switch payment plans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We now offer an exciting new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.wordpress.com\/flight-training\/financing\/\">financing<\/a>&nbsp;option through Pilot Finance, Inc.&nbsp; Please check out the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mosesaviation.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/08\/finance-brochure.pdf\">brochure<\/a>&nbsp;for payment options and more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if I\u2019m still not sure?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebalance.com\/taking-a-discovery-flight-here-s-what-to-expect-282903\">Discovery Flight<\/a> is a great way to test the waters, or the air in this case.  You\u2019ll be shown how we pre-flight the aircraft and then experience a 30-minute or 60-minute flight lesson.  Concluding the flight, your instructor will sign your included logbook and you can take pictures if you like.
